Construction specifiction of mullite based wear-resistant castable refractory

mullite based wear-resistant castable refractory is kind of alkali-resistant and wear-resistant hydraulic castable which is composed of alumina-silica based aggregates and barrticle materils. Aluminaic cement bond as well as admixturrss in suitable portion it can be applied to heavy alkali corrosion bearing parts in kiln and furnace, for example, rotary kiln inlet, kiln hood of new process rotary kiln production line.

1- construction scheme:

A- the refractory castable should be stored in shed storage. It must be kept free from rain and moisture. The guarantee period of this product is (five)months.

B- Forms should be put into erecting after water-proof treatment. The form joints must be aliganed and sealed tightly to avoid leakage and cascades in liner.

C- Compulsry mixer must be used for the mixing of refractory castables. Mixing by shovels under manpowder is not permitted. Mixing use of different type refractory castable is prohidited.

D- The whole bag of product (including the big sack of aggregates and the small bag of powder materails) must be poured into mixer without any remaining and taking out.

E- The products should be dry mixed sufficiently first and then adding water into the dry mix.

F- Keep mixiing for 2 to 3 minutes after adding water. The mixture should be homogenized without dry materils or lumps remained.

G- Refractory castable poured into forms in one batch must not exceed 300mm high, it should be spread out evenly. The vibrator should keep working till mortar exudes from the mixture surface.

H- Forms can be stripped at least 8 hours after pouring, natural curing oeriod is at least 8 hours after form-stripping without watering,(check the castable immediately after from-stripping , so that the quality problems such as wax structure, holes or peelings can be found and dealt with in time, in case serious problems are found the part with major defects, must be knocked down and refilled by same type refractory castable, than vibrated and cured again.)

II- Notes:-

1- Water adding amount for sample preparation and construction is 24~26% for reference.

2- One small bag of powder materials meets the need of one big sack of aggregates.

3- Main chemicalcomponets:AI2 O3 , SiO2
